It’s time to boldly go where no man has gone before, again! The final season of Admiral Picard’s adventures has entered the MUST-WATCH Top 10! Will it reign from the top spot, or could it go to a new retro-futurism series from Apple TV+? Perhaps a fantastical drama? You’ll have to keep reading to find out!

Red Rose

Where to watch: Netflix

We’re starting off this week with some horror!

Red Rose is a BBC show about a bunch of teenagers who’ve just finished with their exams. Rochelle (played by Isis Hainsworth from Metal Lords) grew up quite poor, and has always felt somewhat excluded from her friends due to that. Shortly after the summer begins, she downloads an app on her phone called Red Rose. This is a strange app, one that appears to be a game but actually begins to take over her life. It shows her images of her dead mum, and starts to send messages to her friends alienating them from her. Eventually all of her friends get wrapped up in the game, with deadly consequences. This show also stars Natalie Gavin (from Jericho), Adam Nagaitis (from the Terror), and Samuel Anderson (from Doctor Who).

You can watch this series on Netflix now!

Sharper

Where to watch: Apple TV+

Next up, let’s get into a psychological thriller!

Sharper is a non-linear thriller about billionaires and scams. It stars Julianne Moore (from Far From Heaven and Boogie Nights) as a wealthy mother to a no-good, always getting in trouble son. He’s played by Sebastian Stan (from the Falcon and the Winter Soldier), and he’s started working on a scheme to steal tons of money from an innocent mark (played by Justice Smith from Generation). The plot gets thicker once the plan goes into action, with many different sides to uncover. This film also stars John Lithgow (from Harry and the Hendersons), and Brianna Middleton (from the Tender Bar).

Carnival Row (Season 2)

Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video

Now, let’s take a look at a neo-noir fantasy!

Carnival Row’s final season is out now! This show is about a world shared between humans and fantastical creatures called fae. The main character is a local inspector called Philo (played by Orlando Bloom from the Lord of the Rings and the Outpost) who is half-fae, but is able to pass as human. When we last left the Row, he had joined the ghetto the fae residents were forced into. Many of them, including his ex-lover Vignette (played by Cara Delevingne from Suicide Squad), are considering starting a rebellion to take over and punish the humans for their racist treatment towards them. Philo needs to figure out where he stands before this conflict turns bloody. This show also stars Joanne Whalley (from Daredevil), Simon McBurney (from the Theory of Everything), and Tamzin Merchant (from the Tudors).

You can watch this show on Amazon Prime Video now!

Hello Tomorrow!

Where to watch: Apple TV+

Next up, let’s take a trip to the moon!

Hello Tomorrow!

Hello Tomorrow! is a new show about a group of salesmen who are selling timeshares on the moon. The show is a mix of Mad Men and the Jetsons, showcasing a retro-futuristic sensibility not seen since the 1960s. Billy Crudup (from Watchmen and the Morning Show) leads the cast as a salesmen who may or may not know the actual value of what he’s selling. And while this world, and moving to the moon, looks like a genuine wonder, it doesn’t seem as easy for the people who buy the timeshares. This show also stars Hank Azaria (from the Simpsons), Alison Pill (from Star Trek: Picard), and Haneefah Wood (from the Goldbergs).

Star Trek: Picard (Season 3)

Where to watch: Crave

Lastly, it’s time to engage with the crew of the U.S.S Enterprise!

The third season of Star Trek: Picard is here, and this final season is bringing out all the stops! Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (played by Patrick Stewart from X-Men and Green Room) is finally settling down to enjoy retirement until he hears about a distress call from his old crewmember Dr. Beverly Crusher (played by Gates McFadden reprising her role from the Next Generation). In going to save her, he discovers a new villain (played by Amanda Plummer from Pulp Fiction) who wants vengeance against him. Fun fact, her father (Christopher Plummer) played the last villain the original series ever faced in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. He’ll have to team up with the rest of his old crew (including Johnathan Frakes as William Riker, LeVar Burton as Geordi LaForge and Marina Sirtis as Deanna Troi) to figure out how to stop this new menace. This show also stars Jeri Ryan (from Star: Trek Voyager), Michelle Hurd (from the Glades) and Ed Speelers (from Eragon).

You can watch the first episode of this final season on Crave now, with other episodes coming out weekly!
